Young Family Services
Families with young children (newborn to 5 years old), can enjoy a short child-centred worship service on the second and fourth sundays of each month. These services are approximately 30 minutes long and use stories and songs to involve the children in worship.
Youth Group
Whitehorse United Church is happy to have both a junior (Grades 5-8) and senior (Grades 9-12) youth group. Junior youth group meets_______ and senior youth group meets _____. Both groups participate in a variety of church and community activities. They also have had the pleasure of travelling out to youth Rally's in Alberta.
Men's Breakfast Group
At 7:00am on the first Wednesday of every month, the Ecumenical Men's Breakfast Group meets at Whitehorse United Church. This group provdes a meal and fellowship for men from congregations around Whitehorse. New faces are welcome!
Prayer Group (Wing and a Prayer Group)
The prayer group meets every Friday at lunch time in the choir room at Whitehorse United. All are welcome to participate or to pass along special prayer requests.
Soup Kitchen
Along with our friends at Sacred Heart Cathedral, WUC participates in the soup kitchen held every weekend at Sacred Heart Cathedral. WUC is responsible for 2 weekends per month to supply food and servers at the soup kitchen. Sign up sheets for volunteers are posted at WUC.
Braeburn Lake Summer Camp
As a members of the Braebrun Lake Christian Camp Association, congregations from the Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran and United Churches, own and operate a summer camp. The camp hosts children from the ages of 6-15 for up to five weeks each summer. Traditionally children attend PeeWee Camp, Junior Camp or Teen Camp. Braeburn camp also has a successful CIT program that encourages teenage members of our congregations to participate in camp and share in a leadership role. Volunteers are the heart of Braeburn Camp. Whitehorse United Church has supported the camp with financial and human resources since the late 1960's. For more information call: 393.5011.
